If you don't have anything nice to say, at least have the decency to be vague.

Susybee Fabrics at the Fall Quilt Market

Posted by Picasa Another picture from the 2011 Quilt Market in Houston.
These designs are from Paul and Sheldon's collection and again, Hamil did a great job tweaking the colours and pulling it all together nicely.  Trees in the back of the display turned out really great too - a fun touch!
Posted by PicasaPictures from the 2011 Fall Quilt Market in Houston have just come in!
Above is the crib displaying the new nursery designs featuring Norton and Knightley.  Hamil did a really nice job with these and they look better than I had expected them to - cute!

studio

After years and years working in all sorts of odd and cramped places (my last studio was in the basement of an industrial building - poor lighting and cold..I used to paint with gloves in the winter!) this spring I moved into a new house with a dream workspace on the third floor.  It's a converted attic with high sloping ceilings and an attached bathroom where I can wash brushes.  I have a TV, music, phone and a fabulous 8ft harvest table.  I love it and am up here most hours of the day working, dreaming, drawing (dancing!).  It's usually a happy, creative mess but I delivered a huge series of paintings the other day and so for once it's clean (I even mopped) and tidy for this picture.

And so it begins....

I should have started this blog long, long ago.  How interesting it would be to look back on all the funny, awful, difficult, absurd and wonderful things that have happened over the years as my little doodles became small illustartions became big paintings became life size murals became internationally distributed fabric prints and hopefully now becoming artwork for other licensed products.   My crazy dreams are coming true which just goes to show...be careful what you wish for!

May as well start somewhere so the launch of a new website is as good a place to start as any.  Ladies and gentlemen, may I now introduce you to the Wonderful World of Susybee:
